Goldenloch
December-19th –Week 50-2016
Been doing a bit of analyzing, using the data of this year in comparison to last year, I would say that last year was a much better year for anglers than the one that’s just finishing, being that there was roughly the same amount of anglers and roughly the same amount of fish dispatched, but and here is where my stats don’t work as very few write the correct details as to fish caught and released, however I would say that the year before had a much better weather, as this year its just been continual drisel and horrible cold, This weeks been not to bad though and the slightly warmer days has seen rising fish in all areas of the loch, especially as daylight breaks an early angler this morning Sunday had 4 and his comments were that he was really surprised to see so many fish feeding at dawn, he also said it was flat calm and there were spiders everywhere, in fact he went on to say that never in his life has he seen so many small insects especially at this time of year, Eddie Henderson and Harald Gavin had a really excellent days sport last week, both fishing dry flies, yes dries in December, caught a good number of fish all returned both really enjoying their days sport, Leslie Mitchell managed to fish in a day without wind or frost doing well on what was suggested, its pleasing to see people enjoy a wee break from what they would normally be doing, an angler also commented the other day that the fish are in tip top condition just now and give the most amazing fight, so to all the big softy bears in hibernation, if you are reading this please come along in the spring when you decide to put your paws outside there will be some cracking fish to catch.
