Goldenloch april -04-11
Last week I wrote how nice it was to get a few days settled weather well that didn’t last long as this past week has seen a fair amount of wind and rain, more than enough to stir up the mud on the bottom of the loch making the visibility poor, also the wind made the fishing very uncomfortable as the poor lad with the hook well and truly embedded in his thumb found out, I should also add that we keep a large supply of goggles in the lodge and if it is windy and you would feel safer them please take a pair, however there has been a fair quantity of fish caught and apart from the annoying wind everyone has had a pretty enjoyable time, W Peattie and C Peattie, Leslie, had 2 each using Ace of Spades and a Snatcher M Rowlands, East Dron, using a Black chenille and a Black Pennell had 4, John and Kyle Henne, Newburgh, had a particularly interesting time on Saturday using small Green Fritz they caught 4 brown trout but the person with undoubtedly the best catch this week had to be Stewart Milne, Glenrothes, who using a green fritz again, caught a absolute beauty of a brown trout at 4.5 lbs as well as a nice rainbow Stewart a regular with a big smile on his face was over the moon with this cracking example of a brownie with full fins.
