Goldenloch 22/09/2008
Anglers at the Goldenloch have had a very interesting week now that the weather seems to have settled, the fish are rising to flies in all areas of the loch and are actively taking from the surface and just under it, however they are only taking certain types of flies and for the real enthusiastic anglers this is providing great sport however for the less well equipped lads it is causing immense frustration, getting it right can be very rewarding as G Haggart, Glenrothes, found out on Wednesday with 7 returned using his home tied creation while others on the loch only managed to catch 1 or 2 fish Alan and Euan Hyndman, Muirhead, using hoppers had 2 for 9.5lbs and returned 4 both lads commenting how great the fishing was and getting a couple of nice fish was the duo of Malcolm Cuthill and Grant Hutchison, Falkland they both caught a 4lb rainbow in the dark, and commented that there were fish coming to the fly and rising everywhere, with the weed problem beginning to fall away anglers are seeing the fish moving freely especially in the early morning Tom Brown, Kirkcaldy had 7 all returned, with 1 he reckoned at 8lbs his comments were that he had never seen so many damsels hatching at one time.
