Goldenloch 29/09/2008
The fishing at the Goldenloch has in the past few weeks evolved into the best its ever been for a long time and most anglers have probably had their best sport fishing for years, the fish are feeding actively on and just under the surface, dry flies are what they seem to be wanting but buzzers have worked well as have small Scottish wets, conditions over the weekend were perfect with crystal clear water and a light breeze anglers just had a great time, D Flavell, Abernethy had 2 for 4.5lbs and realised 4 using wet and dry flies, S Page, Glenrothes could do nothing wrong and just caught loads of fish using dry flies, R Dick, Kirkcaldy who has just taken up fly fishing in the last few months had 3 for 8lbs from the bank using various dry flies, as did Ryan Bing, Dumfermilne, with fish rising in all areas of the loch the anglers really don’t know where to fish but it doesn’t seem to matter, however it is definitely much easier in the mornings till about 12 and then it seems to quieten down till about 6pm when it picks up again and then it gets dark about 7 but the fish are still active and move closer to the sides.
