Been a nice week even although the forecasters wrote it off last weekend, it’s been breezy and that puts the fish down, which was really a problem till Friday, after that it was pretty much everything back to normal. Huff and Puff had an amazing day on Saturday, catching quite a few fish, when I spoke to them a few hours before they finished, they had 7 and 8, Sandy Band had 5 from the bank, and Michael Fairweather had 7, Frank Dorris on Saturday 3 and on Sunday 5, while Michael Fairweather back again had 8 others during the week did 2 and 3s but it was a tough week, annoyingly a couple of anglers came expecting to catch masses of fish, armed with bungs blobs and as many lures and mop flies, surprisingly they weren’t to happy at 1, when I spoke with them asking if they had any dry flies or nymphs only to be told the waters they fish these did work and were the flies of choice, so at the days end both were pretty pissed off only catching 1 each, however they did say that they had seen hundreds of fish, Photographer converted to and angler John McRobbie with instruction from Frank caught his first ever trout today a huge congratulations to him, the weed is a bit of a problem as of this week however there are still many places to catch fish, I am onto the weed it just needs to get a wee bit bigger, please understand that weed is good, providing shelter, Oxygen, cover for the fish, provides places for insects and invertebrate’s to live, many things that a fishery need, you only have to adapt your fishing style.
