Well the 2nd week of 2025 was been a bit of a damp squib it was fishable on Sunday and Monday however Tuesday saw a very hardy lad in the form of Willie Watson turn up and boy was it cold, seriously an Easterly wind 0 zero degrees, with a chill factor of -3, I think he managed 3 to the net which was good considering the day, Wednesday saw clear water at daybreak, however by 9.30, 50% of the loch had a thin sheet of ice on it, Leslie Mitchell, Stewart Penman arriving at 8.30 they were on the water by 9.00, when there was still a lot of water to fish on but very quickly they ran out available ice free space and had to abandon their session, and since then its been frozen solid with the ice being a good 7 to 8 cm thick, which ill take a few days to melt, so see yous then.
