I am really pleased that the mower is working, so my mower engine fired up, sounds Okay just perhaps a wee diesel knock, which should disappear, yesterday I also fitted a new starter motor to the weed boat, The Naughty Lass, so today clearing was aided by the wind, I shoved pretty much a huge amount of weed onto the shore, I had to stop as the engine on the weed boat either overheated or there is a fuel filter problem, most likely to be the second I think, anyways the new wire rope arrived today which will allow me to winch out a lot of weed possibly on Thursday, as I have to keep the twins busy tomorrow, all go but good fun, all this jumping around is good for my health, I think, it was really blustery today I was not surprised that no one was here, except an entomologist chap from Stirling University, who is going to be doing a study on water beetles, he was stunned by the amount of weed I was shifting, also by the amount of invertebrate’s in it, sadly not many beetles, possibly the perch has eaten them. This I wrote a week ago and since then, I removed the boat from the water as Aaron diagnosed a problem could be the thermostat, I tried to unscrew the bolts however after a lot of years submitted to water and age, the bolt heads just snapped off, faced with the top off I definitely saw that the thermostat was jammed tight, so it was good call, after a lot of jiggery puggaree welding on nuts, heating the casting, I eventually removed the two rusted in bolts, allowing me to replace all, the new sea trial will be tomorrow in the shifting of the weed, its bad at the boat end of the loch, however half the loch is weed free and those fishing have been very positive about the fishing, with angler numbers now at an all time low the future is looking very bleak, I have taken the decision that there is no more monthly season tickets as depending on chaps paying is not worth the hassle, so its now pay as you go just like it used to be, today there was a single angler first time here, on holiday from the south staying in a caravan near Anstruther, his comments were that this was the best days fishing he had for years, 7 returned yellow owl a very small one, plus black buzzers again very small, 8 or 9 offers, lots of interested trout, no Perch great day hopes to be back if not doing day trip, last night boys on the boast said slow to start with but ended with 20 returned
