The first of May was I up early washing my face in the May Dew, Naw I didnae make it, for the first time in years we both slept in a wee voice said what time is it and I looked at my phone it was 8. 05, jesus how did that happen, looking out the window it was a heavy mist, which must have dulled out the traffic noise, anyways it is cold, bitter cold, I don’t expect many anglers out on a day like today, but April has been because of the weather extremely disappointing, I saw somewhere someone posting about the high cost of going fishing, we haven’t changed our price this year it is for 2024, day tickets are staying the same, basically we have one ticket, Catch and Release and it is £20, it’s up to you the angler how long you stay, up to a max of 8 hours, however for those that want a fish for the pot, Catch and Release plus a fish it is £28, Anglers wishing to kill extra fish will be charged at £8.00 per fish. These prices are for Boat or Bank, you decide or if boats are available, you can mix and match, however taking a boat and then tying it up at a jetty, this is not allowed unless you are camping. Pictures today are Jock on point surrounded by rising fish, Swan on a new nest under the willow tree, and a picture of the decreasing water level, first time since October 2023, that the water has stopped running over the overflow, lots of osprey’s this week I believe it £60 up north to be allowed to photograph them.
Fly Fishing @ the “Goldenloch” for trout with a home tied Fly, is one the nicest ways to relax the body and the brain, time and time again clients say how relaxing and peaceful fishing here is, a day’s fishing is something to look forward too, many people say a bad day fishing is better than a day at work.
