Much better weather this week and catches have been constant, anglers are enjoying the much improved atmosphere especially as we are moving towards Easter, the winter blues are disappearing, some days have been positively warm, the signs are there that there are insects hatching in the water, the trick in having a fishery is introducing fish just before say a competition or a similar event and getting great PR, for the rest of the year as we normally do, will be stocking fish unannounced, the reason behind this is to allow the fish to acclimatise to our lochs aquaculture, it also stops stocky bashing and gives the fish a better chance of survival, catches this week Sandy Band top rod on Friday with 11 using Diawl Bachs and later CDCs, Michael Fairweather and Rod Thaw both had an outstanding days fishing, Geoff Gadd first day out this year at the far end of the loch using PTNs returned 7, Leslie Mitchell on 11 a Blue tailed Damsel fly, Jock Souter on 5, the PDC Wellbeing Group had a bumper day out Peter and Martin both had 1 each George on 11 all returned 1 killed, but best was Lloyd on 20 a great days fishing by them, plus of course a Bar bee Que as usual.
Fly Fishing @ the “Goldenloch” for trout with a home tied Fly, is one the nicest ways to relax the body and the brain, time and time again clients say how relaxing and peaceful fishing here is, a day’s fishing is something to look forward too, many people say a bad day fishing is better than a day at work.
