Boy o boy, here we are almost into the middle of January, we have had for the past few weeks a miserably cold spell which has been hovering between -5 and + 5, at least the water level is back to normal, the overflow has just a light flow, so far this year the fishing has been pretty good, I don’t think we have had any blanks, but the forward forecast is shocking if you were to believe the BBC, there prediction for the next few days is, wind, rain, ice plus snow, I suppose a five year old in primary 1 could have make that up, in the middle of January, anyways we can only but wait and see. Mike Bradshaw has been a proper star these past few days, as I have been juggling with my new found house work, he arrived one morning after a nights rain and quickly bailed out All the boats, then the next morning he using the loch boat, he broke all the ice which then quickly melted, Anne is recovering quicker than I thought from her hip operation, but it will take time and a lot of exercise, so who has been fishing this week R Birrell 6 rainbows, S Birrell 1 Rainbow Alec Cuthbert c fishing with C Thomson who caught 2, Rod Thaw had 8 using nymph’s, Jock Souter on Wednesday 2 Returned, Thursday saw A Micaiah on 3 Saturday 13th Rod Thaw again on 8 using nymphs In all not overly busy but ticking over nicely
