06/08/2023 Sunday
So much better than we expected these last few days, I mean on Monday and Tuesday, only a few were out fishing, with some doing very well, but Thursday, Friday, Saturday and today, Sunday has been much better, Rod Thaw on 20+ and others on 8s and 9s, black buzzers doing the trick, a few guys fishing dry flies, it was working well, but the biggest annoying factor was the rain or rather the hot humidity before the rain, then the fish moving like mad after the rain, some lads fishing during the heat only getting ones and twos, but honestly they were all enjoying themselves, they are seeing fish moving everywhere that’s one thing that everyone agrees upon, there are fish moving in all directions including the Perch, however its finding what they are eating to entice them onto the hook, now a big surprise to me was that I met 4 lads today Sunday that were complete beginners, they had very little flies to use, so getting my big bag of flies out ( which is getting smaller) I was able to give them some decent flies that over the years have been kindly donated by various anglers, some from The Fly Fishing Forum, a great place to find out what happening in Fly Fishing for the whole country, again I can only say a huge thankyou to them and you, for the support we have received over the years, from the angling community, you sure can make a massive difference, for example our Thursday Club that is expanding every week, they have also benefitted a huge amount from donated flies and equipment, plus their fishing is improving by leaps every week, the fact that they are a wellbeing group the therapy they get from fishing is great, we are so pleased to be a partner with Perth and District Council in supporting this cause, Fly Fishing is and always will be first and foremost fishing sport, a means to enjoying life on the water in a gentle countryside, the wildlife and the atmosphere as you get on the bank or into a boat is amazing, couple that with amazing pictures taken by local photographers and the mix is purely amazing, just Magic, todays photographer is Local Lad John McRobie.
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, come to the “Goldenloch” enjoy your Hobby to the max, no stress, only tranquil surroundings abundant wildlife, great fish, Brown, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed.
