Then it was June, wow that was a quick month, things are going fast now, there is plenty water in the loch but I can see it dropping every day, having to water trees and shrubs around the loch, just to keep them alive, pretty sure we will see a lot of irrigation soon in the fields, as the potatoes will soon be starting to grow, the fishing in the past week has been really good for almost everyone visiting, even although it was clear blue cloudless skies, masses of fish were showing and also feeding of the surface, a lady on Monday took the catches book out to he grandad who was sat in a car for him to read and as usual they left with book in tow, thankfully back now, but that hasn’t spoiled anything just the names I don’t remember, however there has been plenty happy faces about, Now on Monday past I was pulling out some weed when I noticed a massive amount of mild blue almost transparent shrimps, for the quantity that I pulled out I reckon that there must be millions, nae billions or even trillions in the water, and this is what the fish are feeding on, John Bashford was the first to arrive after my discovery, on telling him he was able to use a blue Diawl Bach catching 8 all returned, the rest of the week has seen similar results, weed is becoming an issue, hopefully I will be pulling it soon as possible, I am waiting on a part for the big winch to make it work, today I was out on the water and there are two areas that are getting bad but there is also still plenty areas to fish in, some nice fish getting caught recently, trout that are 3, 4, and 5 lbs are being caught regularly, which are obviously older resident fish, as we only stock an average of 1 kilo trout which is 2.2 lbs, a few of the steelheads have been caught with anglers delighted, plus this week has seen some brown trout approx 3 to 4 lbs, but the ace in the box is the perch, which have grown to be over a Kilo and are giving an amazing fight Davie Wilson a Perch master had I think he said 8.
