02/04/2023 Sunday
Sunday 02/03/23 and it is a nice day, still a wee bit cold, but in all a really good day for fishing, the fish are moving, loads of them, not to sure what they are after, just been down speaking to some lads, they are seeing fish everywhere, now we know that there is a huge overwintered head of fish with a few bigger fish in there, glad to see that the water clarity has improved dramatically, during the winter a good few lads commenting on catching fish in the 3 to 4 lb size, now we only stock 2lb trout, so anything larger has grown and developed on the natural feeding reserve that is in the water, lately some lads commenting that some of the bigger fish have got what seems like slash marks on them, which will be from the cormorants, today as the day progresses the fish are much more active there is actually a heat in the sun, so far it would seem that the chaps that have just left have caught 1 and 2s three of whom have admitted to being beginners, Debbie McConnacher & Derek McDonough had a good day with Debbie catching her first fish here at 3lbs and Derek one at 5Lbs, Darin Taylor on 3 Orange Hot Head, George Duff 5 various flies, D Morrison 2 Dry Fly, C Ford 2 on a Damsel, it may be the tide is turning for some warmer weather its long overdue, with the Easter break due now we are up to strength with boats etc see ya soon . Beautiful morning this morning down to the Loch at 6am 5 cormorants determined to land if they try its not good for them.
