“The Goldenloch” 24/04/2022,
Fishery Blog, April, Week 17.
At the Goldenloch these past seven days, a horrid cold wind from the East has been spoiling a lot of peoples fishing occasionally on some days, but on other days when it’s not been blowing there was a welcoming warmth breeze, which was definitely appreciated, so it’s been fishing OK, not brilliant, but most are getting a few fish on traditional flies, so it’s not been fishing its head off, well not yet, as there is nothing really hatching, or rather nothing that can be seen, yes there are lots of fish coming up and popping there head out the water, plus there are quite a few fish that are showing heads and tails, going to put up my drone this week sometime, this to see what the Ospreys are looking at, all three of them, the marsh harriers are also back and are actively gathering reeds and sticks, must be a new nest somewhere, Mr swan is patrolling his patch fending off visiting intruder swans, boat number six completed So some of the catches this week are as follows-: Rod Thaw and Dave Wilson 9+ each buzzers and cats whiskers, Ali Rahdi and N Rahdi 7 each buzzers and cats whiskers, K Jack and C Jack 3 each Buzzers, Andy Robb 8 all returned, L John 9 cruncher Diawl Bachs, George Duff 4, buzzers, John Basford, 4 on damsels, Jim Anderson 6 damsels and yellow dancer, Mike Guild 8 Diawl Bachs, Geoff Gadd 12 on cormorants, But the really cold weather is the biggest problem just now its causing the zero hatches soon that will pass and then it’s a whole new ball game
