“The Goldenloch” 20/03/2022, Fishery Blog, Week 12.
It is warming, we are getting little brief spells of warm days, however after mostly freezing cold nights and frosty mornings, the birds have started singing, which is nice, but the breezy wind is evil, it cuts right through to the bone, late afternoons are starting to become more interesting as it is warmer from the sun, there are a few fish in all areas moving freely under the surface, today Sunday, 20 March 2022 we had an East wind cutting across the water that didn’t help, but all guys are catching fish, mostly on Diawl Bachs, Buzzers and cormorants, the stocking level are high just now, after a relatively ice free year, it means that the food levels that are currently in the loch are high, there hasn’t been winter Ice to deoxygenate the water this year, so effectively we can up the stocking a bit due to having a lot more natural grub, the fish quality this year is outstanding with big spade tails the norm, great fights and lots of offers for everyone, some guys getting loads of fish, we have had some evening anglers and they have all done well, Bob Mitchell 12, Black/Green cruncher, Geoff Gad 6, chartreuse cormorant, Scott Fraser 8 Olive App, yellow owl cruncher, Richard McCleary 9, yellow cruncher, Jim Anderson 5, John Bashford 2, Nick Bechelli, 6 On Buzzers, A Morgan9 Buzzers, A Cuthbert 9 Buzzers, B Kemp 3 on his own buzzers, L Graham 9 Buzzers, S Cameron 6 Diawl Bachs, many more to mention and the most important factor is it is good fun, so I am back onto refurbing boats with nearly 2 ready to go in the water, For those that knew our wee Dog “Beanie”, sadly this week she had to be put to sleep as a huge tumour had invaded her brain, very popular and she loved the fishermen she will be missed. Photos today are random picked out my photo library just for old times, The “Goldenloch Fishery” offers Boat or Bank fishing, or both, superb location in North East Fife, Quiet, Relaxing, no background noise, beginners welcome, abundant wildlife.
