“The Goldenloch” 05-12-2021, Fishery Blog, Week 49.
Another pretty cold week, fishing for those that ventured out however was extremely worthwhile, it seems that the fish are very close to the edges just now, perhaps the water is just a degree or so warmer, whatever it is it is certainly providing fun for the anglers, Brian Stewart, Dundee had 5 or 6 in the few hours he was here on Tuesday morning, with another couple of anglers watching, his place was very quickly occupied on his departure, The bay down at the fishing hut sure has provided some amazing catches this week Leslie Mitchell, Dunfermline fishing with his companion had the following to say “ Stuart Penman running on Gas today 6 fish I got 2 we both lost quite a few plenty of offers but hard to get them to stay on “all mostly caught at the end nearest the boats, J Henderson, Edinburgh, on a day off work, using only dry flies and buzzers fished at the furthermost point of the loch at the far end, pretty much against the top fence, after losing several fish, discovered his hook (barbless) had more or less changed to an L shape and while he was changing it, a shoal of minnows passed by, sort of under the boat, they were being chased by a some rainbows, changing to a silver Invicta his fortune changed rapidly and soon he had 5 and then a heavy rainstorm he came into the hut for shelter, on returning all had ceased to happen but he was still very pleased with his day, Brian Kemp “The Kaptain” was out today to enjoy the sunshine and Tranquillity, but it seems he was missing his fishing and taking to the bank he soon had one returned , but commented that he was missing so many more, another caught, but this one he lost and then he decided to change his spot whereby he caught and released a nice big tailed rainbow, also fishing today was George Duff, Methil, George loves his fishing always fishing on the surface and always catches fish today being no exception, regular winter fisher Jim Anderson fishing mid-week had a good days sport as did Jock Souter, Auchtermucty, who had 4.
