“The Goldenloch”
14-11-2021, Fishery Blog, Week 46.
As far as the fishing goes the weather is the main influence just now at “The Goldenloch”, we have crystal clear water, loads of visible fish, and I mean they can be seen everywhere, cruising and chasing, however these are not fresh stocked fish, they are well settled, naturalised to the surroundings, in the environment of the Loch, however its catching them that seems to be eluding some anglers abilities, many do manage, but isn’t this what real good fishing should be like, its at strange times, and parts of the loch, for example last night, Saturday, after 5.00 pm a huge rise up along the far bank just under the trees, one angler present Richard McCleary and he did well catching 4 or 5 fish, pin fry are also present in large numbers and the fish are feeding on them in shoals, Peter Ross flies working well, as is bibios, dunkelds, cats whiskers but small, on Saturday in the afternoon after the morning boys had all left, Scott Fraser Dundee again got into rising fish ending up with a great catch, as did his brother, Geoff Gadd had another good day on Friday albeit a tad wet with 7 all returned, Iain Graham also doing well on 8, Michael Stone fishing from the bank had 5 plus 1 killed, Leslie Mitchell returning 2 and losing 2 enjoyed his day
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, both mentally and physically, come to the “Goldenloch” enjoy your Hobby to the max, no stress, only tranquil surroundings abundant wildlife, great fish, Brown, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed.
