“The Goldenloch”
October-19th-2020-Week-41
Tough week for some, however this past week has to have been the week when everyone was losing fish, nearly everyone is now fishing with Ghost Tips or Fast Class, or Sinking Tips it makes no difference, the name on the line, the fish are lying on the bottom, yep some fisheries are stating that there are fish rising or feeding, but there is nothing hatching anywhere at the moment, the water temperature has dropped 11 degrees in three weeks, so the only fish showing just now are stockies, they are looking for pellets, on Wednesday I will be stocking a load of prime A fish, on Thursday it will be that I will have feeding fish, Lol, or fish rising, {even though there is nothing hatching}, however my reason for stocking this week is to stir up the fish that are lying in the centre of the loch, I need fresh aggressive fish to chase the fish out of there holts into other areas, new fish are aggressive and genuinely will travel very fast into all areas, with the rapid cold water comes other problems a few fish will be seen with fungal infections, what looks like cotton wool on there scales, you will be doing all fisheries a favour if you kill these fish, please if you are here it is a must and put them in a bag leaving them for me to dispose of, our fish health is excellent just now, it is important to keep it good, we have got the better of the Argulus problem and the stickle backs I am pretty confident in stating, its been a long haul but with perseverance we have I think found our way forward, unobtrusively, plus we have got Argulus traps 28 in total and on their removal in December January, hopefully they will be empty, this past week saw a group of kids with health issues and the relevant care accompanying them, some fish were caught and a great time had by all, It been a pretty good week with nearly everyone killing that needed fish and those that just release getting a few, this weekend past was extremely cold however and saw the amount being caught drop, hence the reason for new fish.
