“The Goldenloch”
April-19th-2020-Week-15-Lockdown Week-4
For fishing this past week would have been a rubbish week, apart from Tuesday, every other day has been bitter cold, with an east wind, I mean it’s been really cold, still limping and recovering from my little escapade with the digger bucket, I have am mostly been doing small gentle things, the stickle back traps are working well, however the trout keep getting into them, once they are trapped in there desperate fight to get out they destroy them, totally; we are having an Osprey problem some days, with up to six or more arriving, the good thing is that with only two mature birds the rest are young ones, waiting on them either dropping fish or them killing fish in the water either way, if the adults aren’t feeding the young have very little to eat,
My claim for financial assistance due to the COVID 19 outbreak has been accepted whoopee, eventually after a lot of emails, confirming stuff, one of the main issues was we have online banking, the application form specifically says a copy of a current bank statement, online stuff is not considered that’s official and RBS due to the COVID 19 outbreak have no staff to send out a real one, stuff anyway, we will await and see just how much is offered, as I am sure it will not be the full amount, but it does take a lot of time to get any response, I am not sure that any monies have been paid out yet to anyone, someone told me it is a direct proportion of your non domestic rateable value after relief x 10 in my case that would be less than £1000, the trees are very slow to bud this year, our flowering trees are the latest they have ever been in the 40 / 50 years we have had them, but the daffodils are a very vibrant yellow the crocus only flowered for a few days as did the snowdrops, has any else got the same issues, so much for stay at home we have never seen so many walkers cyclists, runners as this year, the cyclists are in three types upright sitting enjoying the countryside, slightly bent over traveling at a steady pace, but observing the I’m in the countryside rules, then there are the complete noggins, travelling at maximum warp speed, heads down crouched, in the middle of the road, not expecting to meet anyone or any stray animals very brightly coloured Morrons. Also its not easy to keep saying sorry you cant just walk or cycle down to the fishery, I know in the past we didn’t mind, so long as people stayed well away from anglers but its difficult now and my children and Grandkids, are very protective of me as I am in the highest risk category, they don’t mess about if you stroll down, but you cant just do it, that’s is why the parks, libraries etc are closed, so I am now confined to the house thank goodness for CCTV, I do hope everyone is well and keeping safe, it is really hard this for everyone but it is all for our own good, we are fortunate here in Scotland it must be a nightmare in the USA when the leader says stuff that even we know is daft, My youngest daughter is due any day now and is carrying twins, nobody can visit only her boyfriend is allowed for an hour, to say we are worried is just mild but life is what it is, I just want her home safe, Sandy Band I don’t have your No, Sandy Drummond I hope you are well, John Bashford you must be itching to get out Eck and Sandy plenty fish for you, Grant Mc Gregor assume you must be making fishing rods by now, Dave Wilson Rod says you are fishing for tiddlers in your bath, Lads I miss you all and hope to see you soon Haven’t forgot you Mr Mitchell trust all is ok in your life to many to mention Cheers
John
