“The Goldenloch”
January 16th-2020-Week 3
A very wet and windy week, this week has seen a fair bit of damage out and about with trees and stuff blowing everywhere, down at the loch, banking’s have been getting eroded, trees uprooted, the black curse, the evil cormorant is back, and every morning they see me sitting in the car with my rifle waiting on them, I have given up trying to apply for a licence to shoot them, as they never reply in time, also the qualifying conditions and criteria are absolutely impossible to meet, so I just shoot to scare, in my lifetime I have shot so many birds and animals, I for the last 20+ years no longer shoot to kill, in fact at the last amnesty I handed in ½ my guns and ammunition, so considering the weather, the fishing is pretty good for this time of year, cold days spoil it, but warm days well slightly warmer make up for it, Brian Stewart, Dundee, fishing yesterday from 11am till 3pm had 9 all on yellow wet flies, another lad had 4, but left after he got a fly into his thumb, proper in, the only barbed fly in his box, he had just put it on as the flies he was using were pretty ruff, a large yellow dancer, it just wasn’t coming out, two more new fisheries in Fife this next season, anglers are really getting spoiled for places to go to, wishing them luck in their new adventures, one lad I do know is Chris Ritchie, he is a well-known angler and by the proposed plan on the Fife Council’s planning page it looks like an exciting adventure, a lot of hard work ahead but with a young strong body and time on his side I am sure he will have a lot of fun in building his dream, for he has been looking for a place to build up for a few years, the other is Lower Carriston, which obviously is below Upper Carriston, this is giving anglers two places to fish in one spot, a bit like a fisheries centre in the middle of Fife, all it needs now is a Tackle shop and that would complete the Centre, so anglers it looks like your dreams have all come at once this year, grumpy anglers will be a thing of the past, everyone going fishing in the countryside will be looking for a quite day relaxing in the sun, playing with rising fish not knowing what flies to use, a hamlet cigar in one hand and a rod in the other, Bliss.
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, come to the “Goldenloch” enjoy your Hobby to the max, no stress, only tranquil surroundings abundant wildlife, great fish, Brown, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed.
