“Goldenloch”
December-27th- 2019, Week 52
This my last report of 2019, thank goodness its over, history, now confined to the record books, however it is tainted with bit of sad news, I just heard yesterday that one of my anglers, a real friend and a great character, John McClelland, Ballingary, has passed away, John has been ill for some time, he fought hard to overcome entering the pearly gates over a year ago, but he was not ready to go, in a true angler fashion, Jock said then, that he was coming fishing again, which he did a couple of times, enjoying the sunshine and the chat, an argument with him was always something to look forward too, it was usually very colourful and educational in lots of different ways, my first ever encounter with Jock was eons ago, he always wanted to tell me all about how I should be running a fishery, a very popular person he had a massive smile and story to tell, came armed with family and friends, we were so different but everything he said, and did, was done with conviction, a story, but mostly followed with a wry smile, he became a friend and a was a true gent, the family must be in such sorrow at losing someone as magnanimous as him, cause there will never be another “Jock McClelland”
