“Goldenloch”
Septemer-22nd– 2019, Week 36
So the fishing has picked up a lot in the last week or so, catches are more like they should be, Leslie Mitchell, Dunfermline had 8 fish on Tuesday, other did equally well William Robertson and his brother Alfie both had 6 each all returned, D Robertson, Dundee, 5 black buzzers and hares ear, Pete Grieg and Scot Hobson fishing during a very bright afternoon had 3 each Grant McGregor had 13 all returned and Steven Scobie Newburgh 5 fish should have been 10 but they kept coming off, Brian Imrie broke his bogie catching 17 all retuned as did Alan Hyndman with 9, so that’s the upside the downside is that we seem to have an alarming amount of fish with injuries, for the last few weeks we have had continual visits from young Ospreys’ about 5 of them and they hack and scratch at the fish as they are neither big enough nor strong enough to lift them out the water, however after killing say a large rainbow they wait until the wind washes the dead fish to shore and then they devour same, the damaged living fish also then get a white mould over the scales it is the time of year for white spot and also cotton wool type fungus, it is an unfortunate disease and tends to be not contagious, please if you catch any during your visit dispatch the fish and put it in the bucket in the boat or throw it up the banking as it very unlikely that they will recover from this infliction, apart from that all is good
