June-03rd– 2019, Week 20
Not been the best week, fishing for those that ventured out it was pretty good, but again the weather was the spoiler, Brian Stewart, Dundee had 12, all returned using a Black Snatcher, Diawl Bachs, and Olive half Hogs, A Morgan and A Cuthbert had a very enjoyable day on Thursday, albeit a very wet day interspersed with a lot of wind however 3 returned and 2 for 6lbs were two happy chappies using yellow dancers and a consett budgie, J Bashford Kinross getting his fishing mojo back on form, 2 for 5lbs + 2 returned using a hawthorn fly, I Graham 2 for 6lbd 3 oz + 7 returned all on a black lure, Mike Farrell on a quick 1 hour fishing 1 on a red buzzer, Now a special mention for Paul Crawford Auchtermuchty fishing with his dad in the wind, Paul Jnr about 10 or 11 on his own, caught, landed and dispatched a 3 lb 3 oz fish, Sandy Drummond 7 all returned on wet flies, Dave Fleming Kinglassie 2 for 7lbs Black / Red buzzer + 1 released, Steve Hampshaw , Kinglassie, 2 for 4 lbs Black Buzzer, Grant McGregor having his best day ever 10 returned using a orange hot head Diawl Bach + he says he lost more than that due to using barbless wire hooks, Saturday evening Colin Hay 9 returned on a sedgehog / green muddlers / butcher variant, a really annoying thing is Phantom bookings over the years we have had a few usually by phone but this one was by messenger and in a typing conversation with the person the booking seemed real, however it was for 4 people in boats starting at 8 am, Ok the weather at 8 was poor but by 9 the sun was shinning and it turned out to be a glorious day, but no sign of the booking, a call or a message would have been the right thing to do as I had to get cover for someone to be at the loch as I was otherwise engaged, It is just so annoying and frustrating, however it has to be said that some really nice fish are being caught just now, at lot of fish are in the 4 – 5 lb size and quite a few bigger brown trout.
