Goldenloch
November – 26th – Week47-2018
A Beautiful crisp clear day today, the water clarity is however, amazing, water is running out at a full 150 mm pipe, plus on overflow which is an amazing amount of water, the fish are in most areas but definitely best in early mornings 7am till 8.00am and evenings 4.30 >, catches are on Black and Greens and the fish are fighting like demons, loads of offers and takes, all this in late November, so hard to predict what’s happening, water temperature is at the surface 4 degrees and at 4 ft 5.5 degrees, that is cold, we still have a flurry of fish shoaling around alevins, but not as often, yesterday Brian Dewar, Alec Burns (Club Champion) and the PR Guru and press officer / secretary / treasurer John {Rinky} Robertson accompanied by his best friend Jim Gourley, ( a name that used to be in every report 20+ years ago) all had a great days fun with a reasonable amount of fish caught on what was a stormy windy squally day, it was nice to see Jim Gourley catch a few, but I was a cold day and the fish were hard to get and that’s what its supposed to be, that is the whole thing about fishing, this week Jim Anderson had 3, Dan Peach had 5 on a silver Invictas, Trev Peach 2 on a green spider, A Cuthbert 2 and A Morgan 2, John Bashford, fishing with S Drummond had a fantastic day 15 between them these two lads love there days out but don’t like the cold, Brian Stewart, Dundee missing fishing with his old partner Wullie Robertson, comes here and fishes now for a quickie session, Brian has been coming here for some 35 years and over that time has caught thousands of fish but he recons now that the fish are a lot more vigorous. Neil Christie, Kirkcaldy, after taking up Fly Fishing, as a new hobby some 6 months ago, is now finding it more difficult to catch fish; he is experiencing having to find a fly that best excites the prey, learning to emulate fry swimming, fishing sub surface and deeper using different lines and flies, lures, in all he is teaching himself to fish using you tube and anglers for advice, today on a really tough day flat calm he was successful with a yellow dancer, Superb.
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, come to the “Goldenloch” enjoy your Hobby to the max, no stress, only tranquil surroundings abundant wildlife, great fish, Brown, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed.
