Goldenloch
November – 05th – Week44-2018
Its not been a busy week this past week, but more of a pleasant week for those that have come here for a bit of solace, some doing well and others finding it hard work, I think to be honest the real reason that the fishing is harder just now is that the water temperature has dropped now to 8.5 degrees and it’s the cold frosty mornings with the surface wind that is doing it, definitely the fishing is better in the afternoons when everything has warmed up, Yesterday George Murphy arrived with his mate Bobby Davis, fishing from the bank they had a pretty slow start to the day but a few hours latter things picked up, George getting 7 and pipped by Bobby who had 8, both lads losing a few, it was the same on Friday for Dan and Trev Peach with most being caught in the late afternoon, however some lads are still doing brilliant, A Hyndman had 16 all over the loch and a few times he gave his spot to others encouraging them to catch fish, we had a swan unfortunately caught in a leader, the angler on his back cast not knowing that they were there picked up the bird which then entangled itself, the angler tried hard to untangle it but eventually the bird got free still tangled, so because in the past we were given a direct line to a wildlife officer on calling this found the number discontinued, eventually phoning the RSBP main line, after some 45 minutes was put to a wild bird officer at Vane Farm who’s words were, if you cant do it yourself how will we manage, Now in the past and on more than a few occasions, I know that they have stuff (Pellets) that the swans love to eat, that makes them very drowsy and extremely easy to catch and handle so what is it with the RSPB why cant you just do a simple task, or is it that it has become a huge rumbling giant of an organisation that lives of donations and cant be bothered.
