Goldenloch
June 03rd -Week-22-2018
Some amazing returns, plus some really hard fighting fish, however anglers have said that a lot of fish have also been shy, after coming to the fly they have turned away, if they did take the fly it was very gentle, then it is also strange how some lads make it really hard for them selves by not listening to others, but that’s the quirky independent way that some people are, the fish are in all areas of the loch, but early am and I am talking about 5.30 am till approx 7.00 am there is a massive rise of feeding fish right in the centre of the loch, which is then replicated at approx 9 pm till about 11pm, this time it is on the bank side above and below the middle jetty, just ask Callum Mclean who had a fantastic night on Friday night, he had caught a few before by just covering rising fish, but when the sun dropped behind the skyline he just was met with fish feeding and chasing and it was nearly a fish at every cast, for Callum the amusement was that he could hear others in boats saying that the wish they had fished the bank, another lad that has had a couple of fantastic nights is Huff who seems to have dumped Puff in favour of another, yet yesterday he was on his own and I am not sure, but I think he had a personal best, his usual place is the top farthest away corner, near what we call the sunken jetty, I believe 19 fish was the grand total, which considering he is no spring chicken, is a pretty good days fishing, all caught on traditional Scottish wets and dry flies, Kaptain Kemp returned, and with his steely determination had a good days fishing, keeping a blue and a rainbow, John Bashford, one of many this month to get a grand slam, plus returning a few, Leslie Mitchell partnered with Jim Pollock lost a lot of fish, but they found a new place on the loch to fish, exciting times ahead, Nice to see Dan and Trev Peach fishing again, this father and son team only fish dry flies, always catch fish, well done, Gavin McGlashan, Newburgh and Stevie Fyfe both had 5 each on Friday night, the night fishing just now is good with masses of fish showing at the sunset, however its not easy fishing as they will only take certain flies, getting it right on Sunday night was John (pele) Reid, buddies with Iain (woof) Wallace, who at the far end of the loch caught armfuls of strong hard fighting blues, rainbows and brown trout, and at this end catching equally as many was Derek Possie and his buddy, meanwhile on the bank was Jim Raymond who lost scores of fish and not managing to land anything, O well that’s fishing for you.
