Goldenloch
April 09th -Week-14-2018
Well it had to happen sometime, but it has taken ages, the water has started to warm up, the outside temperature is positively pleasant, the fishing responded in a most excellent way, however mornings and evenings are definitely better, some fantastic catches around 5 to 6 pm, Darin Taylor not only getting 9 in this twilight time, but also got the first pictures of the 2018 Osprey, as it hauled out a nice trout, but its great to see everyone catch fish, so far this year there have been very few lads blank, with people that kill fish always getting something to take home, a lot of new faces and a few beginners, some were positively surprised that we do not charge for beginners, especially first time anglers, encouraging lads to go fishing is really important and charging them especially the first time that they try is a bit mean, Late anglers as well as really early arrivals are positively encouraged here at the Goldenloch, it’s a time of the day that is often the only me time some lads get, last night saw Fred Henderson Perth arrive at 7 and going for a quick cast ended up catching 8, all released, Kevin McGregor 10, on a black green buzzer early morning, Keith Talbot catching a few was blessed by an Osprey visit, J Reed Pele to most caught 12, having a poor day was Brian Dewar but was being cheered up by his boat partner A Burns, it is nice to see on the water when flat calm insects hatching and lots of buzzer shucks lying on the surface a true indication that spring is coming a with plenty fish in the water anglers will be having some great fishing, It would seem at the moment that there is a fishery war taking place, with a few places vying for business, it started of with the occasional big fish being introduced into some waters, now it would seem that it is standard practise that some places stock several big fish, every time they stock, prices go up and then they come down, this is done to encourage more trade, I heard that one fishery this week has even stocked a 20lb rainbow, now I believe that there are large cash prizes to be had, this coupled with some anglers amazing ability to tie basically any type of bait flies, all without any design control, well what’s next I wonder and good luck to those that are perusing that route, however we are not at the “Goldenloch” going in that direction, we just want and have always wanted anglers and I mean all anglers to enjoy their day. We have two prices 2, £15 is for a half day which is 4 >5 hours and £20 is a full day which is 8 hours, these this year will be strictly adhered too and please just enjoy the fishing.
