Goldenloch
July-24th-Week-31-2017
So yet another week has past, this has been a really pleasant one, we enjoy the peace, quiet and less hassle here at the Goldenloch, its not meant to be complicated, nor fussy, a big change in the weather Friday past, came after a few days of a real low, which was basically spread right over the country, we saw the fishing really come good again on Friday past, Lads fishing were treated to some amazing catches, especially in among fish that were torpedoing across the surface, why this happens is a mystery, but it does happen now and again, there will be a fish slowly meandering with its dorsal fin just out the water, suddenly it will take off in a straight line, accelerating to an amazing speed, then vanish, hatches last week slowed down a bit with the colder spell brought on by the East wind, David Wilson having his special lads day, breakfast, fish, lunch, fish, BBQ was a tad apprehensive about the day as it was drizzle on their arrival, Dave was here on Thursday night when the fishing was dour, anyways 8 lads or more eventually got onto the water after a small informal loch christening, then the fishing got underway, to say that they had a good day is putting it mildly, a hugely fantastic day was more like it, straight away fish were being caught, everybody, was getting fish whither they landed then or not was a different matter, there day was interspersed with fag breaks, coffee top ups or drink, lunch and just a pleasant day in the warm rain, but everyone just were enjoying the day, the evening BBQ was abandoned, replaced with going to the pub, last week the early part of the week was reasonable, in that there were fish being caught but due to the extremely low pressure, anglers were having to fish much deeper, we had 6 novice lads trying fishing for the first time, with 4 managing to get fish, also it’s a fact that these fish are acclimatized to natural feeding therefore are much harder to catch, anyways, a lot and I mean a huge amount of fish are coming up and looking at the flies which anglers are using, many fish are trying to drown the flies, and lots are just turning away from them, Sandy Drummond fishing with an old fishing buddy from his Loch Leven days enjoyed his days fishing, challenging as it was, Fly Fishing was never meant to be easy, it was meant to be challenging its all about the sport, Its all for fun.
