Goldenloch
June-25TH –Week 26- 2017
So this is half way through 2017, this week has been a week of very varied conditions, I am sure that if you are an angler reading this, you were going to go fishing you would be curious about the conditions and phone or at least have a look on the internet that’s why I have on my web site local weather to here, as a loch operator, I must have shot myself in the foot at least 3 times this weekend, with goodness knows how many phone calls about the wind, me saying to guys well if I was being honest its pretty gusty, the wind is keeping the fish down, yet last night and again to night, Sunday, after a blustery day the wind has died completely, just now its a flat calm, to reveal fish rising everywhere, Sam Angus and friend arrived today in blustery conditions and guys coming of had caught a few 4 and 5s, they went on the bank and between them had 17 with many more offers and lost fish, all on dries hoppers and buzzers “Great Day” Dave Swinlay, Lochgelly had a storming night on Sat night with 8 or 9 released 2 for 7lbs and goodness knows how many lost fish, however the prime anglers just now are the travelers, they come early doors and mid day and late evening always getting fish and they never pay, Huff and Puff also were back and had an amazing nights fishing, one had 9 and the other 5 good going, with the water pretty much crystal clear and the weeds all in the center of the loch the far end fishing is excellent as is the bank also the water level has dropped and the jetties are back, the fish are in great condition mostly because of the vast amount of natural feeding, this was very apparent on Saturday with two lads really struggling out in a boat, both pulling lures using sinking lives they were catching loads of weed, something I would imagine is quite common this year in many places, so telling them to fish from the bank with nymphs’ and floating lines they then went on to catch 6 or 7 fish each.
