Goldenloch
May-21st–Week 21- 2017
There is a huge amount of pleasure gained, when, as a fishery owner / manager when everything more or less goes to plan, where the clients, anglers all have a good time. This last week began with brilliant warm days and fish rising in all areas of the loch, mostly feeding on the surface but they were being caught with suspender buzzers and shipman’s buzzers, it was truly an anglers dream, Brian Kemp (The Kaptain) Kirkcaldy had 3 for 8lbs all on buzzers, Sandy Drummond, Kings kettle, had 9 all realised P Cashia 4 rainbows and 2 blues all returned, C McKenzie 9 returned, Diawl Bachs and shipman’s buzzers, P Hains, 10 caught, Joseph Williams 3 blue and 2 rainbows on a Claret Hopper and a nymph Don Stewart, Glasgow 8 returned and John Grey, Auchtermuchty, 4 returned, Craig Scott, Kirkcaldy 9 returned Buzzers (black green) / under a Fab, Huff and Puff Grime, Perth, great day loads offers loads lost 2 each returned, Brian Dewar,14, E Burns 4, all on buzzers and wets, everybody else this passed week more or less had similar catches definitely a great week, however the end of the week was much harder due to the weather changing and a wind that caused a proper chill over the water on Saturday, so there were a few lads that recorded a nil catch and that was later in the afternoons, mostly when windy and cold however they all still reported having had a few fish on but lost at the boat which seems to be very common this year, a few bigger fish are starting to move about, indeed Brian Dewar commented that he had caught a few that were pretty much bigger older fish that were well formed and by all accounts gave a really good scrap, So more nature news at the Goldenloch the Osprey seems to have found somewhere else to fish as its visits here have reduced dramatically, it could be that the neighbouring loch “Lindores” is now back to being run as a fishery, and I believe being stocked regularly, but our old friend the otters are back and I believe they are nesting at the “Black Loch” again a neighbouring loch, I caught them on my wildlife cam on Friday night https://youtu.be/HwVBHFkqnIc and also https://youtu.be/dWlRxmO-s0M Hopefully the weather blip of the cold wind and rain has passed and some nice warm settled weather comes back so remember to bring your cameras as well as your rods.
