Goldenloch
April-16th –Week 16- 2017
Where do I start with this weeks report, *Ospreys or Fishing*, best stick with the fishing, this has been quite a hard week, the air temperature plummeted, boy did that put the fish down, its not like there were none being caught, on the contrary, its Easter week (warmer weather) you would have expected Montanans, nymphs, dry flies, small wets and buzzers to be the fly of choice instead, its was bungs, bobs and lures, plus all the usual, never the less catches have been good, having a good day is the most important thing about going fishing, even when your fingers are numb with the cold as was Eddie Henderson and his buddy Harold fishing last week on a very cold blustery day with an East wind, Eddie with 4 and Harold just the 1, great fun, excellent sport and a great fight from the fish, a theme that has lasted for a long time now, take today, Sunday, a full house on the loch plus guys on the bank, freezing cold conditions sprinkled with near snow, but it fell as frozen rain, everyone catching fish and lots of fish, well nearly everyone, everyone enjoying the day and the fight, even the lad that discovered that we didn’t allow snakes at the Goldenloch, he really enjoyed his day, at the days end, some were reluctant to come in, it was not going to be spoilt by the near arctic conditions, its unfortunate when there is a lad that fails to catch a fish, it would be unfair that he gets mentioned for blanking, so best I leave it at that, not to name him, I promised him I wouldn’t, its not like the whole of Fifes going to want to know he was. So onwards and upwards, we have coming soon, “The Goldenloch Casting Clinic” its this Saturday, 22nd April, Brian McGlashan will be in attendance, here to help Anglers improve their casting, it may be that there is very little wrong with the way you cast, a very simple tweak maybe is all that is required, Brian will be on hand from 10 onwards, please try to be on time, the plan is that the day will pan out with Brian giving a casting demonstration and talk to the ensemble, there after individuals will set up and demonstrate their own techniques, it will be a busy day with hopefully everyone getting some good from his wisdom, its not really a day for lads learning to cast, but more a day of some dawning of ability, as watching a truly good angler gives people the feeling of watching “art in motion” this is an open day and the invitation is for you to come along if you think its for you.
