Goldenloch
January-16th –Week 03- 2017
Some ice, some snow, some wind, some sun, some cloud, its been a long week, the clock is ticking faster, for some the winter cobwebs will be starting to cover the eyes, the bum cheeks will be a little sore sitting at the fly tying table, trips to the supermarket no longer have a buzz off excitement, there is no more fishing stuff left on the shelves, only the rubbish net, or tents that no one wants, but the spring countdown will soon begin, it will soon be just, about warm enough to go out on your own, unaided by the person you share your world with, so what’s happening, well its been pretty rubbish this winter, its so wet, and cold, we just cant get much done, we have got a few upgrades to do, things that should help the fishing, or rather the time you spend here, we have built a new overflow, this made the loch a lot deeper, that should help to stop the weed growth, a new fishing lodge is planned with a changing room and a nicer toilet, including a kitchen, So how about the fishing, well its slowly getting started, the best way to describe it is, if it’s a nice warm day then the fish are to be seen, a wee breeze is all that’s needed, a cold day with an East wind then its really hard, the past 3 or 4 days have been pretty good if I was being honest it would have been great if the sun had broken through the cloud cover, but Alec Burns did very well with I think 12 returned not bad as when I spoke with him at lunch he had only caught 2 , to day a few being caught but again no sun, need some sunshine.
