August-22nd –Week 34-2016
A really busy week these past days its fishing well just now and honestly this is the best fishing you can get, regardless of what anyone says, catching fish of the surface all day long with dry flies, no matter the place, if that’s what is happening then the satisfaction levels are at there best, 40 years ago Lindores and Loch Leven were famed for old fashioned dry fly fishing and what’s happening today is that anglers aren’t getting the opportunity to experience some of the more relaxing aspects of going fly fishing, its all a bit of a rush, we really don’t mind to much if you take longer or even some are happy with catching 1, last week one night a gent came with his dapping rod OK so the conditions weren’t that good, not enough of a breeze, but after catching a fish that was plenty and he left to go home and cook it, The boys have done a brilliant job at pulling the weed a lot of thanks to Aaron and Greg its been a hard few weeks and their skills have improved beyond doubt, but even that task has been amusing and interspersed with loads of funny moments. The weed is pretty much past its growing spurt and can now be seen lying down the insect level is at an all time high just now as is the oxygen levels, water clarity is amazing and the temperature dropped a degree over the weekend and is now at 12.5 degrees, So its high expectations and just plain good old stress free fishing come and enjoy the sport, if you need some relaxation now’s the time, but if you’re the kind of guys that need to catch fish with lures this isn’t your spot as the fish at the moment just aren’t interested, buzzers, nymphs’, dries and wets are all good though.
