Mar 07th –Week 10-2016
Just so as we all know that the winter is not over its been a really cold period these last few days, the last four days especially Thursday last week saw some really good catches with anglers saying that the fish were most active about 0.5 metres below the surface taking a varying amount of nymphs or buzzers especially if there were bright flashes on them, the strikes were solid and decisive, anglers were treated to a fish well hooked, Billy Anderson, Glenrothes having a good day with 7 fish he reckoned all in the 3 to 4 lb mark caught every fish on small wet flies or buzzers, Ian Wallace. Kinglassie, fished later in the day when it was much colder and had 5 all on Diawl Bachs, speaking to Ian his main comment was that he had a great day but couldn’t feel his fingers anymore Friday was another really cold day and the few lads that turned up were met with ice forming round the edges never a good sign, fishing was much harder as the temperature never really rose above 1 degree all day and the sun never broke through, Don Stewart and John Grey each had 4 with the killed fish being about a Kilo each, the next couple of days were more or less a repeat of Friday but for a couple of lads who did very well on Sunday as we actually had a bright warm spell that lasted a couple of hours, enough to make the fish more active and more mobile.
