Nov-01st –Week 41-2015
The last seven days saw some pretty dramatic weather conditions, Monday was the best and really good, the 6 or 7 anglers all did well, water clarity is pretty near perfect, and a small breeze was giving a little ripple, ideal fishing conditions each angler catching a few with loads of offers, however the next couple of days saw howling gales and heavy, very heavy rain, I must say that the two lads fishing on Tuesday did extremely well, not just by catching fish but in being able to stay in the middle of the loch all day fishing, on their return to shore, both had done well, returning loads and most importantly they had a really great day, the rest of the week was a slow recovery to a much milder weekend, even today Monday morning, the temperature is 18.3 degrees: Now the fish are feeding just now, people are getting good catches, but fishing with lures and big strange things, only produces a lots of knocks and lost fish, what it looks like is that the fish, are taking some sort of larvae, that is hatching in the water, one angler commented that he had noticed small ant like beetles that were only a few millimetre’s in length, a few lads recently spooning fish, have all said the same thing however, that there is some kind of buggy type insect in the bellies of the fish, So what have we got just now, a huge amount of fresh clear water, temperatures on the rise again, basically due to the cold rain that fell and the warmer atmospheric conditions, the air temperature being in the high teens, water temperature low at 10 / 11 degrees, lack of bird life to indicate that something is hatching, due to the birds having all flown south, and anglers hell bent on using olive damsels’, yellow dancers, and consett budgies, they are catching fish, but the guys that are catching more are still using buzzers, traditional wets, is that weird or what, however most importantly whether it is boat or bank people are enjoying the tranquillity and reserve of enjoying a few hours fishing without interruption and catching a few fish, the forecast is a lot better this week and warmer weather is on its way.
