Goldenloch sept-21st –week 35-2015
Lots of flat calm and blistering heat, the last five days here have been I suppose if we were on holiday in some far flung land “absolutely stunning”, anyone coming fishing have come to relax and enjoy catching a few troot and that’s just exactly what happened, we have had everyone that’s been catch bar two complete novices that didn’t want a help, Oops there were a couple of lads one night but I better not say their names, but Paul Watt Leslie had 3, using dry flies, we have had some amazing sport lately and the brownies which have changed their colour lately and are looking spectacular are putting up some really amazing fights everybody is buzzing with them, A few new faces these past few days and its good to see them doing well, suspender buzzers and shipman’s have been very successful, for the past week the fish have been active on the surface over the whole loch and interestingly are coming up and taking something that is virtually invisible but it certainly is there as on watching closely the eye can just see a wriggle and then a trout will appear it happens in seconds but it is visible “just” So hopefully we will get some rain soon as we seem to have missed out on the heavy showers that have been floating around, the loch could really do with some fresh water, Fife Council came out a few weeks ago and posted a sign up saying no fish to be removed or consumed , I now wish to challenge them on that act as they have not got the statutory authority to do this and in discussion with relevant fishery authorities’ the algal bloom that was in place then was never a threat to fish or the meat in the fish but was as we are all aware of was a threat to dogs and humans if digested, not by humans digesting the fish as they inferred, Numerous calls emails have not been replied to and as that particular algae has all but disappeared we still await there opinions
