Fishing or angling for trout, sport fishing, Fly Fishing, was never meant to be an easy sport, way back in the days of Fishing Loch Leven from my Dads dairies’, many a day was had without many fish, or rather fish that were of a size to kill, as a good sized fish was just over a pound maybes’ a pound and a quarter, but it was then the sport and the thrill of going fishing, it wasn’t about the cost or the weather it was about getting out and enjoying a days Fly Fishing, it wasn’t about catching a fish an hour, or getting your monies worth of trout, it was actually about being happy and contented with just a quality days, with or without good company, sitting in a boat relaxed and enjoying the surroundings, knowing that there are fish in the water and that most importantly that there are flies hatching or going to hatch, that cause a rise and if yours is the right fly then you’ve got it, Most of today’s anglers are like that and just having had a really successful weekend when I think all but 2 caught at least 2 fish it makes these guys or should at least make them feel that they had a pleasant days sport, with the water quality issue, this morning the water is really good, it is late afternoon after a hot bright day that seems to be the concern, which allows the Algae to float through the water, rather than on it, however we, having been in this business for a long time will be challenging SEPA or rather Fife council about the notice they have put up, “more Later” Last week was a very strange one, with very unsettled days, wind that blew from the West and then the East, sometimes flat calm, sometimes gale force, it made conditions hard, really hard, now that in itself presents to Mr Average a situation that should be interesting, knowing that there are plenty fish and with the amazing selections of flies and lures that are available, catching something albeit 1 or 2 should be very satisfying, and to be honest most anglers today can its good sport and is appreciated by most which makes our job more interesting, This weekend on Sunday is my youngest grandsons Christening so expect a noisy day if your coming here fishing as we will be having a fun time in the park.
