July-06th–Week 24-2015
So another week gone passed, strange week, we missed most of the rain, had thunder and lightning though, which really put the fish down, Last night was another strange evening, no wind, sudden temperature change and rumbling thunder in the distance, one chap had 3 absolute beauties close in to the side, whilst others out on boats struggled, but all week despite there being an algal bloom the fishing has been superb, most if not everybody has caught fish some have caught quite a few, but the best bit is that most of the fish being caught is on dry flies, which undoubtedly makes any angler visiting a happy chappie, the fish being caught just now have really putting up a tremendous fight and lots are in the 3 to 4 lb size which is really good as far as we are concerned, in that they have grown to that size, being that our supplier only delivers fish in the 2 to 2.2 lb size, these larger fish must be at least a year old and are basically super fit and well formed a lb a year is considered good growth in the wild, many brownies can be seen moving in certain areas but catching them is a very difficult thing, Waid academy had a good visit but unfortunately catching fish was not in the agenda, they did however a lot of good beating the water and I am pretty sure a good day was had by all, a visiting youth group arriving on Thursday past, evening had a lot of rain to contend with, but 6 fish caught, 2 by the same person was a good night, the unfortunate thing is that on leaving Dundee the weather was glorious, which meant them wearing light clothes, but on arrival here the clouds had appeared, two hours later after fishing in the rain a beautiful evening sun and a massive fish rise and some very wet driech youngsters with the promise of going to McDonalds winning the vote.
