Goldenloch april-20th –week 15-2015
Still a tad cold but the fishing has picked up to the point where it is now pretty embarrassing just how many fish some people are catching, but it can still be hard for some as the winds chop and change direction, Friday say a reasonable turnout and fish being caught in all areas, but mostly down at he old jetty, with some lads well into double figures a bit of prompting was being required to let other move into that particular spot, however it was the next day that things became a little bit more interesting with the arrival of the German equivalent of BBC2 arriving at the fishery, and interviewing anglers on their political views post referendum of course, and on what their take was on the current popularity of the SNP in Scotland, a view I personally support as my faith and belief in the alternatives has dropped recently to an all time low, being Scottish and born in Fife I am enthusiastic about all things Scottish and all things Fife, however as I have a Saltire flying above the fishing hut the TV crew were more interested in that as seemingly it is not really aloud in Germany to fly a flag, aren’t we lucky here in good old Scotland with open debates and Freedom to do what we want. Sunday saw all the boats out and a few on the bank, but it was a lot colder, everyone caught fish, but nothing like the previous two days, A few bigger fish getting caught just now, these fish are genuine oldies that have been here in the loch for ages, Sunday evening saw a fish caught about 6lbs and returned that we had tagged two years ago, with the fish returned all the angler could do was describe the tag which I can positively identify as mine, the prize was a summer season ticket for the Goldenloch which I have honoured however with the fish returned I will stand on for the next time it is caught.
