Ice fishing @ the goldenloch
Ice Fishing
Hi to All the Fishermen out there
So basically its frosty and I was thinking apart from tying flies what do anglers fishermen do when the waters all iced over, well a lot take their partners shopping so as to get it done and dusted leaving them free to go fishing when the weather gets better, or they sit bored wondering when will the ice melt.
So here is an Idea, How about going ice fishing, what I was thinking was if the frost stays for another couple of days, the ice will be thick enough to support people, I was thinking about teams, say a team of two or three per hole, or rather holes no larger than 100mm maximum three holes / team in your patch, which would be the size of a gazebo which you would be allowed to bring, plus obviously a barby, chairs, table and food etc, any flies are allowed, including bait ( that’s a first for the Goldenloch), {no grenades or explosives obviously} Life jackets must be worn or at least some kind of floatation device, If there is an interest a quick committee will be set up for entry fee decision and a prize or prizes decided
1. Every person going onto the loch must sign a disclaimer.
2. Teams of up to three may enter (Male or female)
3. Each team will be allocated by ballot drawn on the day a pitch for fishing
4. Each pitch will be allowed 3 holes of no more than 100mm dia
5. Each angler maximum catch 2 fish extra fish £5.00 each
6. No Catch and release
7. All types of lures, flies, baits, worms are acceptable but hooks to be no larger than 6
8. No multi hooks will be permitted
9. All pitches to be within 10 meters of the bank and all persons on the loch must wear at all time a floatation aid of some description, rubber rings arm bands etc.
10. Fires are permitted but bring your own fuel.
11. Bar b Ques are permitted as is food and drink sharing.
12. Tents and gazebos’ are permitted with overnight stays only allowed on land / Soil.
