sept -15-, week 36, 2014
Its back to much cooler weather now, the fishing has become much more interesting, the weekend saw some really interesting situations with anglers having a lot of fun using sedges and small dry flies, our load of 377 absolutely stunning brown trout have been very well received, with some lads doing very well on them, as usual others fishing nearby not so well, but they were using much larger stuff, Rennie and Lewis Forsyth had 6 with 5 returned, Lyall Dow had 5 all returned, and Craig Proudfoot had 9 all returned, while Rennie returned the next night and caught only 1 the guy next to him had 11, and Lyall I believe blanked, but yesterday was again a strange day with a predominately east cool wind blowing, however the fishing just now is truly superb, yesterday saw a couple of lads catching a 6lb rainbow and a 4 lb blue trout, so generally speaking the fishing is pretty good, a few complete beginners this passed week, with all bar one catching something, in the next week we have a scout troop coming for an adventure day which includes fishing, camping, etc so we are hoping for some nice weather, the grass carp seem to be eating the bottom of the plants just now and without a significant wind the plants are lying on the surface its not a huge problem but it is annoying we are hoping today to go out and collect most of it. The water is crystal clear and generally speaking conditions are Go so there are no excuses other than last Friday a couple fishing laid down their rods and on a very warm day just sat and dozed for 2 hours, both saying it was the most relaxed they have been in weeks as they live in a street with NO supporters at one end and YES campaigners at the other, every day they hear the same old and coming here just allows them peace and quite.
