Goldenloch sept -01-, week 33, 2014
The Water is crystal clear and the fish are now feeding well, anglers are catching pretty easy and even they are commentating on that fact, Sunday saw early boys get going just before the wind got really strong and on coming of declared that they each had caught 5 or 6 in the first hour, unfortunately the wind just got to big, everyone doing well and the bank has been good with a few lads getting fish close in, its that time of year where we either get a extra long summer or an early start to autumn, we have had a few really cold nights, the water temperature is now back down to 14 degrees (Perfect) and a few really wet days, the water level is at its maximum yet not overflowing, the trees have not responded by turning colour however they are dropping leaves, so there is a move on summer being over so that’s probably why the fish are feeding so well, they have also sopped jumping as much but I would say that they are chasing more if you stand and watch its not long before you see a fish fin like a small shark zooming across the water, Jim Weir, Toll cross, 9 all on Diawl Bachs, his partner Alison catching and releasing 4 caught on buzzers, regulars Brian Stewart and Willie from Dundee 11 to the boat, Martin Nicol Perth, 4 each visit on dry flies, Allan Gibson BOE back after a long illness only fishing for a short while caught 1 at approx 4lbs on a small nymph, restoring his faith in catching fish. Noticeable this year is that a lot of people are now sitting to fish, we have put substantial wooden arm chairs at strategically placed intervals and only the other day I happened to notice that everyone was being used
