Goldenloch aug -25-, week 32, 2014
What a great week its been, the fishing has been remarkable and with everyone getting good catches, Oops, just reading the book and I see someone blanked, but the best thing this week has to be the staff at Ninewells hospital who have repaired my badly failing eyesight to nearly perfect, I mean, here is me on my computer, without glasses after years of just about having my nose against the Monitor, Fantastic, Anyways the fishing is good, really good, a wee bit of weed now and there but we are going to drag it all this week, the fish are surfacing nearly all day and are feeding on hatching flies nearly all day, the evening sees a small white fly and a small green fly hatching there are still sand martins feeding as well as the odd swallow or swift, the fish are fighting hard and with the evening temperature dropping the fish are starting to feed for the winter so many anglers have started using lures mostly small ones, but quite a few guys have done well using nymphs, J Kerr, 4 for 12 lbs, using a cruncher, Sandy Page 9 all returned on buzzers and daddies, Sarah Cane 2 1 at 3 lbs on a daddy,
George Duff 2 returned on sedge he only fished for a couple of hours,
I Dixon, 2 for 4lbs CDC, A Fenton 3 for 8lbs, P Cooke 3 returned, Ronnie Forsyth 3 returned, Its really good to see that anglers are particularly good at returning fish as more and more are exercising a Catch and release policy, the fish generally at this time of year need a few seconds to recover and I noticed several anglers leaning over the sides of boats for reasonably long periods of time well done lads that’s the big plus about boat fishing at least you can do this, however with the now cold nights sone the cooler water should make the fish even more aggressive.
