Goldenloch may -19-, week 19, 2014
Ok so back to strange weather and fishing conditions, up until Tuesday of last week the fishing was pretty good, with nearly everyone getting great catches and loads of offers and fish could be seen rising all over the loch, on Tuesday evening the barometer air pressure rose dramatically, indicating a massive change in the next days weather, during the night we had a mild lightning and thunderstorm which was matched with another greater one on Wednesday, plus a hailstorm, whilst this cleared the air pressure would normally drop, but it didn’t, and the fishing was to say the least hard if not extremely poor on both Thursday and Friday, both these days seemed to be normal days, yet both had a high air pressure readings, it started to drop on Saturday and Trevor Patterson, Lochore had his normal good day, starting early but as the day progressed it became extremely windy making conditions difficult, Sunday morning saw another windy day, it was one of those days that was very close and grimy, if you understand that, however the air was cleared late afternoon with a massive rainstorm and Sunday night saw fish rising everywhere, all week we have had photographers here to try and get action pictures of the Ospreys, I don’t know where the photographers were, but we had three Ospreys here and they were spectacular in their display with air battles with the attacking crows and swoops over the loch it was a fantastic display, At the moment the forecast for the coming week is normal thank goodness.
