Goldenloch may -12-, week 18, 2014
This has been a really good week at the Goldenloch, anglers fishing have had a very relaxing time, most if not everyone that goes fishing enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out the best way to catch a fish and that varies immensely from day to day, with the water crystal clear, getting warmer and a sun above, shading every now and again, the fish can see and hear at large distances, making what the angler is using either attractive to them or not, very much over the weekend it was small red wet flies and what we mean by that is a tiny red bodied with small wings pulled slowly through the water at a depth varying between one and two feet, Tommy Brown, Falkland had 11 doing this and then did some buzzer fishing later without success although using good Polaroid’s he could see the fish swim right up to and past his buzzers, also commenting that the fish could be seen swimming round and under the boat was Athur Henderson and his brother Euan from Kilmarnock, they arrived early and had caught a few even before the Ospreys arrived there was no wind but as they said it was a lot colder than they had expected at 6am, by 7 it had warmed making the fish quite active, regular Eddie Henderson was a star on Tuesday catching fish regularly, but also he fishes at the far end of the loch and was surrounded by rising fish, similarly last night a gent arrived quite late and was sat in a boat unable to decide what fly to use, this with fish rising and jumping for flies all around, flies that were hatching everywhere, they were skipping over the water the swallows and martins were diving and with fish jumping it all became a bit enthusiastic so he just sat with a coffee and a watched it all happen, when he came off the water it was nearly dark and it transpired that afternoon he had just fixed his broken rod and not being experienced as an angler had never seen the likes of this before, it was just a pleasure to be part of it.
