Goldenloch april-21-, week 16, 2014
What a transformation, its hard to describe or write just how things have changed here at the Goldenloch, we have rising fish, fish jumping for hatching flies, swallows feeding nearly all day, we have had Osprey visiting regularly and with a few photographers’ about this year hopefully we will get some amazing pictures, both yesterday, Sunday and Saturday saw some amazing fishing with some lads catching a lot of fish, but the most interesting fact is the condition of the fish, everyone is a brilliant colour, every fish fighting like a demon, buzzers and mini wets being the flies to use, the temperature has risen quite a lot in the last week we have had very little wind and pretty good cloud cover its not been to bright, everything together just made things happen, Even Andy Fraser on a short spur of the moment trip with his pal managed 6 fish, L Dow and R Dow both Newburgh had quite a few between them, keeping 4 for 12 lbs, K Leslie, Glenrothes 5, Father and son D & I McGregor Newburgh had a great trip with son losing 3 or 4 but catching his first ever a sturdy 2lber, its good to see so many happy faces again, also yesterday saw a brown trout caught which was returned with the angler commenting that it had a fantastic colour and appearance it was one of 300 that we put in back in February and that’s the first showing just goes to prove that they have been feeding on the bottom on the pretty abundant food supply.
