Goldenloch april-14-, week 15, 2014
We are a whole degree warmer this week at the Goldenloch, this year is the slowest ever for the water temperature to rise, it has risen from 4 to 5 degrees C in the last week, mostly I would imagine due to the sun that shone on Saturday and Sunday, the fishing is pretty well on par for that water temperature, in that the fish are there they just aint showing themselves, but fish are getting caught, Eddie Henderson a regular from Perth had a few, 5 I think on Friday and Don Stewart, Glasgow had 6, Sunday was really windy and with a few guys turning up early and the wind being relentless in its strength of gusts and direction, my advice to them was come back another day, it really wasn’t that hard to convince them, however whilst we were debating the weather conditions we were also watching the antics of some Ospreys, which were we think mating, I seems that this is done on the wing, with the male and the female climbing to a huge distance, height, above the water then spiralling and freefalling till they almost crash into the water but swopping back up just meters before impact all this being done in 20mph gusts, the whole thing being quite spectacular and I am sure not ever seen by many, the water temperature is low for April and the winds are annoying however this week has seen a massive rise in the air pressure and outside temperature vary from 2 to 14 degrees but the tendency is that conditions for this coming weekend to be really good for fishing, we have new fish going in tomorrow and are looking forward to some really good sport in the next few days, its good that the Easter weekend was put back it feels more normal.
