WOW, what happened just when things were very slowly starting to get a little bit warmer and the fish were moving about, a really cold snap arrived and with a cold wind from the east, not a big wind, but enough to chill everything right back to where it was, if you’re a sporting angler and you just go fishing for pleasure then I really don’t blame you for staying at home, but if like some, and you’ve got to catch fish then its not been a great weekend unless you went stocky bashing cause the fish here with the cold wind, temperature drop and lack of sunshine just put them right down, back into dormancy, before the cold wind it was picking up nicely, Don Stewart, Glasgow had 12 all returned using various wet flies and buzzers, Hamish McKenzie, Linlithgow first time visitor had 5 using lures yellow dancers and similar but eventually started using buzzers and lost 3, Sandy from Kings Kettle using his free fishing loyalty ticket had 6, all from a boat and all of the surface best days fishing for ages, but that was the day before it got cold again, water oxygen is high, clarity is medium due in part to the wind and rain, temperature is back to 8 and generally speaking its Baltic, hoping to have a new weather station soon as the old one got destroyed in the winter gales, hoping to see a warm spell over easter got a new load of fish due soon, Hamish caught one of the grass carp with a green fritz he thought it was an alien, but he assured me it was healthy.
