Goldenloch march-24, week 12, 2014
Its starting to warm up a little, not a lot, but at least its getting much brighter, days are getting longer, this time of year everything can change so fast and very dramatically and in just a few days, the cormorant attacks are slowing down, however there is one very smart bird that just out foxes me every day, as soon as I go anywhere near the loch it takes to wing, it circles the loch waiting till I leave, then it will sit in a tree watching me for hours, if I move or go near it, it takes to wing, it is one smart cookie, I have noticed that it does not however bother to much about the forklift that we have which can trundle back and forward past it and it doesn’t seem to flinch perhaps this is a way that I can get nearer it, the fishing has improved a 1000 % with there being some good catches a few have braved the cold mornings, but it is definitely the afternoons that have been better, the swirling wind is still annoying but some days it goes completely, Saturday was good and fish were rising in the afternoon and evening not a huge amount but something was making them hunt for food, we have in the loch now a lot of much bigger fish and a lot of overwintered fish and with the forecast to be warmer we are expecting some real good sport fishing, where only the right flies will win the day, I am currently looking at a wireless weather station and would appreciate any body with any experience of one get in touch the winters high winds wiped out my old system.
