Goldenloch september 16 week 35
At the Goldenloch these past few days it looks like winter or rather Autumn has arrived, not that the trees are changing colour but they certainly have a bumper crop of berries, especially Rowans, Holly Berries and brambles, anyway with the Sand Martins, Swallows and Swifts plus my pals the Osprey starting to make there way south, we are hopefully looking towards a good winter seasons fishing, heavy rainfall yesterday greatly freshened up the loch and Saturday night around 7pm we saw a huge rise of fish, for some reason the fish are mostly around the old lodge area, which is good for bank anglers, getting a good few were Don Stewart and his brother in law John using Scottish wet flies and dries, the dry fly fishing this summer has been the best ever, several anglers, many, commenting that they have never caught so many fish using just dries, weeds have been our biggest problem and without the ability to use a weed killer it has over the last few years just got worse, but with the low water this year due to the lack of rain and the weeds ability to see the sun the growth just exploded and it will continue to be a major nuisance, unless a remedy can be found, it has taken some months to get permission to introduce grass eating carp, some will getting introduced soon, so hopefully next year the problem will be nothing like as bad as it has been this year.
Our new pricing: effective as of now is easy to understand, Plus a loyalty card scheme starts now: – and offers everyone the ability to get a free session after so many visits, also for a limited amount of time new anglers visiting will be offered a second visit for half price: – as normal we still don’t charge for complete beginners first visit, and still offer out one hour basic learn to fish opportunity, hopefully see ya soon.
